Experience the working life reality in Argentina!

Unique combination of an intensive Spanish language course (beginner or advanced) of 4 weeks duration and the following placement at a low-skilled job for young people for the first 4 weeks after finishing the language course.
After the first 4 weeks job the participant can find another job or eventually the first job can be prolonged. The language course contains the job interview preparation and the writing of typical local job application documents.

The "real life" of South America can only be experienced if you are part of the daily work routine. The best way to do so is to work or to attend an internship at a local company or institution. You will obtain an insight of the culture, working mentality, local problems etc, which a normal tourist never will get.

The work & travel program is the cheapest way for young people to experience Argentina because the participant can cover some of the living expenses by his paid work. The participant can choose a suitable job from a list of open positions or the job will be organised individually corresponding his preconditions and preferences. Through the numerous contacts of Pasantias Argentinas to local companies, hotels, cafes, social institutions etc within Argentina we guarantee every participant the placement into a low-skilled job of at least 4 weeks duration!


Attention: This programme is a "cultural immersion" programme to improve Spanish language skills rather than a job or recruitment intermediation! The payment/the scholarship will not be sufficient to cover all costs of the stay in Argentina nor are tourists allowed to engage any labour relationship without a work permit.


Payment: A remuneration/scholarship/stipend of 300 $ (argentinian pesos) for the first month can be agreed, corresponding the participants´qualifications, the company´s possibilities, duration of the stay and type of work.


Jobs
The available jobs are low-skilled jobs for students and young people like bar tender, waitress, kitchen work, hotel jobs, copy center, internet cafes, telephone shops, car washing, sales persons in shops, book shops, shopping center, pizza service etc.


Duration of the preliminary Spanish language course: 4 weeks.

Duration of the work experience period: 4 weeks (eventually to prolong).


Language skill requirements
To attend the work & travel program you must have sufficient knowledge of the Spanish language. Therefore you have to attend a preparing intensive Spanish language course of at least 4 weeks prior the following work period.


Job placement fee
Pasantias Argentinas will charge only a small job placement fee to cover some costs of organising your job. We like to promote Argentina to European and North American participants and support this by long term stays (work experiences, internships, famrstays). We know exactly what "impact" is caused to the participant by experiencing the foreign culture. But also a long term stay has to be affordable for young participants. That´s why we are not charging high placement fees.

The partcipants has to cover with his small placement contribution the expenses arising with the organisation of his job, like photocopying his documents, phone calls to prospective employers, taxi or bus transport to personal interviews etc.


Accommodation
Pasantias Argentinas offers for its participants on the work & travel program the accommodation in the beautiful town chalet "El Castillito" during the time of the language course and work experience period. The accommodation will be in doble rooms. If the chalet is booked out, further participants will be accommodated in homestays/guest families.

a) A CV (WORD - file, in English or Spanish)
b) Digital or scanned photograph (jpg-Format)
c) Copy of your passport (faxed or scanned)


Application deadlines
You should apply at least 4 weeks in advance, because you also have to book a suitable flight to Argentina, we have to arrange your accommodation and we have to coordinate your arrival and airport pickup. Of course: the earlier you apply the better!
